Edna L. “Monk” Bruckerhoff, 94, of St. Mary died Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Ste. Genevieve Care Center in Sainte Genevieve.

She was born Sept. 3, 1924 in Belgique.

She married to William “Willie” J. Bruckerhoff Sr. on November 21, 1941.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in St. Mary, Ladies Sodality at Church and a lifetime member of the C.M.A.. Monk had attended Thompson School in St. Mary. She loved to spend time gardening, cooking & canning, being with her children, grandchildren and friends.

She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Moore of St. Mary, Betty Stennett of Saint Mary, and Clara Mertz of St. Louis; two sons Clyde Bruckerhoff of St. Mary and James Bruckerhoff, of St. Mary; sister Dorothy Linderer of Ste. Genevieve; Brother Leonard (Gladys) Moll of Saint Mary; 10 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband William “Willie” J. Bruckerhoff Sr.; father Simon Moll; mother Hazel Ann (Miller) Moll; five sons Vernon Bruckerhoff and William “Billy Joe” Bruckerhoff Jr., Francis Bruckerhoff, Anthony Bruckerhoff, and Johnny Bruckerhoff; two daughters Deborah Denninger and Velma Bruckerhoff; son-in-law Earl Moore; Brother Roy Lee Moll; grandchildren Robert Mertz and Jon Bruckerhoff.

Visitation was at Basler Funeral Home in Ste Genevieve on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019.

Service was at Basler Funeral Home on Saturday, August 3, 2019, with Msgr. Jeffrey Knight officiating.

Burial was at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Saint Mary Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
